Consignment Guidelines
Consignment Fee – A $50.00 consignment fee applies to ALL horses. This helps cover professional marketing to promote your horse and ensures a safe, well-managed facility to sell.
Health Requirements – All horses and livestock must arrive in healthy condition and be accompanied by a current Coggins test.
On-Site Coggins – We can pull a Coggins test at check-in for $37. You’ll receive temporary results immediately, and your permanent results will be ready in approximately two weeks.
Veterinary Inspection – All horses will receive a vet inspection upon arrival for $5 (fee waived if Coggins is pulled on-site).
Accurate Descriptions – Sellers are encouraged to provide honest, detailed descriptions including age, training, temperament, and any special considerations.
Guarantees – Any guarantees must be made in writing and will be the sole responsibility of the seller.
Sales Process
Check-In – Consignments are accepted during posted check-in times. Check in is from 2pm to 6pm on the day of the sale. Information, photos and videos can be sent in the week prior to the sale for maxium marketing exposure.
Auction Day – Your animal will be presented in the sale ring with the information you provide. You are encouraged to ride or represent your horse and answer questions in the hours preceeding the sale.
Payment – Sellers are paid promptly after the sale, minus applicable commissions and fees.
Commission & Fees
Consignment Fee – $50.00 per horse. This fee covers marketing to promote your horse and providing a safe, well-managed place to sell.
Standard Commission Rates – Deducted from the final sale price:
10% on livestock
20% on tack and saddles
7% on trailers, panels, vehicles, wagons, etc.
No-Sale Fee – $25 per head if a reserve price is not met.
Lead-In / Ride-In Fees –
$15 per head lead-in fee (if McFarlin Livestock staff leads your animal)
$25 per head ride-in fee (if McFarlin Livestock staff rides your animal)
No charge if you lead or ride your own livestock — in fact, we encourage it!
Yardage Fee – $5.00 per day, per head, for animals on the grounds.
